I always came to school to run away from my family and away from the troubles but who knew that by coming to Bridgemont that I discovered my second family. So instead of running to my family I run to this family.
I prepared a poem that describes my feelings during this time when I met Bridgemont.
Ode to Bridgemont
A room full of darkness, it’s me all alone,
Away from the sadness the hurt, the unknown,
Left with nothing, but the fear of no hope,
Emotions everywhere with no chance to cope,
Silent tears running down, it can’t even stop,
The only words you can hear are drop! drop! drop!
Trying to clear a heart full of pain and a head full of pain,
A moment away from turning insane,
Just when all hope seemed lost, nothing left to fight
Something from out of the darkness - came a really bright light,
And from the light came out a hand, and another and another,
The sight was so overwhelming,
there were more tears to smother
Now these weren’t tears of sadness
but something I haven’t felt in a while
But tears of love and happiness that came with a smile.
